Hope you're not implying that what's good for the wolves should be good enough for us. Eugenicist, do you have a blog? Would love to read more of your thoughts.

Re: RU

"When you look at the fact that in wolf packs, only the alpha *couple* mates, and only with *each other*...Also the alpha pair is almost always the only pair to mate, to avoid over population."

Perhaps this proves that wolves instinctively practice a form of eugenics?

Fascinating. That doesn't sound like the sort of human society I'd want to live in.

When you look at the fact that in wolf packs, only the alpha *couple* mates, and only with *each other*, it appears to suggest that while the males are subservient to the alpha, the females are also subservient to the alpha female. It also suggests that, except for his relationship with the alpha female, the alpha male is sexually quite beta, to the point of celibacy, as far as the other females are concerned. I don't think there's a lot to be learned here about human behavior.

From wolfcountry.com: Mating season can be anywhere from January to April with the alpha female having only five to seven days of oestrus. During this time, the alpha pair may move out of the pack temporarily to prevent interruption from other pack members. Also the alpha pair is almost always the only pair to mate, to avoid over population.
